2008 Holiday Part 11 - Maidstone

Tickled Trout in West Farleigh, Kent. Nan and Bob wanted to treat us out for lunch. (or as Nan put it "for a Nosh")

A 20 minute drive took us to West Farleigh to a pub called Tickled Trout. The day was perfect for eating out in the beer garden. Unfortunately, because we wanted to eat outside we weren't allowed to order from the normal extensive menu but only from the limited choices on the beer garden menu.

Hubby had the 8oz Cheeseburger.

Nan had the Gammon with Pineapple. This was massive. You can't tell from this photo but the gammon was probably as big as my face!

I had the mussels in white wine and cream sauce

Bob had the smoked ribs.

All our meals were outstanding and we managed to finish off most of it.

Oad St Cafe. For afternoon tea, after our huge lunch, we drove to Sittingbourne, Kent. It's a craft centre and Tearoom.

After doing a bit of souvenir shopping, we settled in for afternoon tea.

The Little one and I shared a Black forest Gateau

While Nan and Hubby had a slice of Bakewell tart each.

Trip to Waitrose for last lunch. Waitrose is Nan's local supermarket. There they have a selection of freshly made sandwiches and we chose a variety, including BLT, wild crayfish and Ploughman's.

Maidstone Nando's.

On our last day we visited our counterpart in Maidstone. Unfortunately they didn't open till 12pm (we got there at 11am) so we didn't get to see the inside of it.

Bon Appetite,
Cherrie
