Kung Hei Fat Choi

We celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Pig at the Crown Riverside.

There were a number of food stalls. We got there around 11:30 and only a hand full were open and selling food. Since we didn't want to wait around in the heat and hubby was hungry, we went for the closest open food stall.

The food we ate was "food court-ish". The fried rice was very average but hubby enjoyed his pork chop in plum sauce. I had a satay chicken skewer.

I then spotted this...

Ice Kacang! I haven't had one of these in years. It's similar to a Filipino halo halo. It is shaved ice with a number of other ingredients like red beans, creamed corn, grass jelly and a few other things I can't remember. The nice surprise was the whole rambutan at the bottom. It was very welcoming on a 39 degree day.
