Mars Bar Cupcakes - A Sweet Farewell

One of our very much valued employees from our store has decided to leave.  After almost 3 years of her hard work and loyalty, she deserved a party to celebrate her time with us.  We threw her a little soiree and I was in charge of bringing something sweet.

The girls

I sill have cans of home made dulce de leche in the pantry and wanted to use it up.  After browsing the net for uses for it, I came up with with these little beauties.  Mars Bars Cupcakes.  It was perfect.  Small, sweet, sticky and scrummy.

It's very simple to make.  First, find your favourite
chocolate cake recipe.

Fill the cupcake case half way and then spoon the
dulce de leche into the middle.
Top up the case with more of the cake batter.

Bake in the oven till cupcakes are cooked through
Melt chocolate in a  small saucepan and stir till glossy.
Spread the tops of the cup cakes

Decorate with thin slices of Mars  Bars.

Bon Appetite,
Cherrie

Oh brilliant! How delicious and decadent something apparently so simple can be! I love it! But then I am so partial to caramel and chocolate.
